With this handy tea bag sealer from Rosenstein and Sons, you can easily seal your filled tea bags or tea bag protective sleeves yourself.
Before using the device, first fold down the safety guard. Then take a tea bag in your left hand and the sealer in your right. Place the tea bag between the two contact surfaces. Then gently press the tea bag sealer together in the same spot for about 3 seconds and then move it slowly and evenly along the desired sealing line.
This device requires two AA (Mignon) batteries.

Self-filling tea bags consist primarily of natural fibers (albaca fibers and other cellulose fibers) and a mixture of thermoplastic polymer fibers. These are necessary to make the tea bags heat-sealable, meaning they can be sealed using heat. A very small amount of wet-strength agent is also required to prevent the tea bags from disintegrating into papery mush when hot water is added.
In addition, there are pyramid tea bags made entirely of nylon.
