Capsule Fillers Compared – The Right Model for Every Need

In our shop, you will find five different types of capsule fillers. A basic distinction is made between devices for separated capsules (cap and body supplied separately) and capsule fillers for pre-assembled capsules (as commonly available on the market).

1. Capsule Fillers for Separated Capsules

You can choose from three models:

K100 and K400 – the standard models

These capsule fillers are made of food-grade ABS plastic and allow the parallel processing of 100 (K100) or 400 capsules (K400).

The main advantage is their ease of use:
A pre-sorting tray automatically aligns the capsule halves and places them into separate hole plates. After filling, a single step is enough to close all capsules simultaneously.

K100 and K400 Premium – the high-quality version

This model works on the same principle but stands out thanks to its precision manufacturing from solid acrylic glass.

Filling is almost loss-free, and the higher weight combined with stable rubber feet ensures a secure stand. Ideal for ambitious home users as well as smaller production volumes in professional environments.

The purchase price is higher than that of the standard models, but is justified by the increased precision and user-friendliness.

2. Capsule Fillers for Pre-Assembled Capsules

We also offer different models here for various requirements:

Standard 50 – the classic

A proven design for decades, extremely durable and even dishwasher-safe. Despite tens of thousands of units sold, there have been no complaints about broken parts so far.

Available in sizes “000” to “4”, it covers almost all common capsule sizes.

Operation is very simple – however, the caps must be placed manually, which results in a slower working speed. Many users appreciate this calm and controlled workflow.

Comfort 24 – the compact, fast helper

With capacity for 24 capsules per cycle, this filler is ideal for users who want to produce smaller quantities quickly and easily.

The capsule halves are inserted separately and closed in a single step.

Note: In very humid or extremely dry air conditions, minor fitting inaccuracies may occur. Under normal storage conditions, however, this can easily be avoided.

Available in sizes “000” to “1”.

3. Feton Full Metal – the professional solution

In a class of its own. Manufactured almost entirely from stainless steel, this device meets the highest standards in pharmacies, laboratories, clinics, and in the production of dietary supplements.

It is autoclavable up to 110 °C, extremely durable, and suitable for continuous operation. Depending on the version, 100 to 400 capsules can be processed per cycle.

For beginners, we recommend the capsule fillers Standard 50, Komfort 24 or K100 Standard.

Yes, that is possible – however, the following applies: to ensure that each capsule contains the same fill quantity, the capsules must always be completely filled and tamped (compacted). Only then can a uniform dosage be achieved.

If the powder is naturally too light or too heavy, there are two solutions:

• Blend the filling material with a neutral excipient (e.g., cellulose) to adjust the bulk density.
• Or choose a different capsule size so that the capsules can be filled optimally.

This ensures that all capsules reliably contain the same amount – regardless of the powder’s density.

It is generally possible to fill our capsules with liquids. However, since the capsules are primarily designed for use with powders and granules, certain conditions must be met to successfully fill them with liquids. The very long shelf life of capsules filled with powders cannot be achieved with capsules filled with liquids.

• Essential oils
  Essential oils can generally be filled into both vegetarian and gelatin capsules without any problems. The capsule materials, gelatin and HPMC, are not softened by the oils, so the filled capsules retain their liquid for many days. The storage time depends on the oil used and should be determined through experimentation. For longer storage, it is recommended to store the capsules upright with the larger half of the capsule facing down. Since it is often impossible to fill the capsules with oils without a small amount of liquid spilling over, you should expect the capsules to develop a slightly oily, shiny exterior.
  
• Fatty oils, waxes
  These substances, like essential oils, can be filled into capsules. Substances such as coconut oil or beeswax, which are solid at normal room temperature, should only be warmed until they are just liquid. At temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius, the capsules may dissolve.
  
• Aqueous liquids
  Liquids containing water quickly soften the capsule shell and cause it to leak. Therefore, a capsule filled with such substances cannot be stored. However, it is possible to fill a capsule with an aqueous liquid and take it within 2-5 minutes. If the liquid is only 10 degrees Celsius or colder, this period can be extended to approximately 30 minutes.
  
• Freeze
  It is perfectly possible to freeze the liquid-filled capsules in a normal household freezer and store them for months. The capsules will not become brittle from the cold and can be taken normally after thawing. Capsules containing aqueous liquids can also be swallowed while frozen. This eliminates the risk of them dissolving during the thawing process.

Not all of our capsule fillers are suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher. The Standard 50 device is dishwasher-safe up to a temperature of 60 °C.

All other devices should only be cleaned by hand using lukewarm water.

Another exception is the Fastlock full-metal devices by Feton: with the exception of the pre-sorting tray, all parts can not only be cleaned in the dishwasher but can also be autoclaved at temperatures of up to 110 °C.

Spare parts are available for the K100 Premium 100 and 400 models. No spare parts are available for the Komfort 24, Standard 50, or K100/400 Standard devices.

For the full-metal devices by Feton, spare parts are generally available for many years – if they are needed at all.

All capsule fillers are covered by the legally mandated 2-year warranty provided by the seller. This warranty obligates the retailer to repair defects in the sold goods free of charge for up to two years after purchase. If the damage was caused by the customer, they are not entitled to a replacement. The damage must therefore have existed at the time of purchase.

Furthermore, Feton offers a 2-year warranty on its capsule filling machines.

All capsule fillers are manufactured from materials that are suitable and approved for food contact. We can provide these certificates to our customers upon request.
